Last weekend logs from Southern Poland

Post by Foton »

Hello. Interesting Sunday I think – a lot of stations was on air.
In my opinion conditions was fair at my QTH. Signals was OK, but unfortunately a noise level was high, too. In many cases this level was too high (s4-5) to hear weaker stations. Also more than usual digital transmissions made problems on pirate band. Nice to hear again Radio Black Arrow (6250-ID thx Achim’s blog), but signal was on the edge of readability.
I was able to listen to new (for me) stations: Radio Foxfire (6305-ID thx Achim’s blog) and Radio Face de Blatte (6385). Foxfire signal was fair, but modulation in my opinion too low. From the other side sound quality was very good. Foxfire is completely new name, but RFB name I heard earlier many times – finally I was able to receive this station. Today we could hear mainly electronic (and well known) hits on RFB frequency. I was positively surprised about Radio Altrex and WRI signals this Sunday. The strongest stations was as usual Mystery Radio, Radio Amica and Radio Playback International. Radio Borderhunter (Sun) and Radio Alice had lower signal than usual. Borderhunder again didn’t fail me and played Jarre song (I’m fan of electronic music).
To my list I should add also UNID from 6547, but it was too deep in noises to give any details. Also two or three greek stations was heard today between 6200-7000, probably harmonics from MW.
I stopped logging this Sunday at 1130z so I missed some interesting stations. It happened due to beautiful weather in Poland – I decided to cycle around near airport (26km).
Audio files are available on my webpage: http://www.foton.e90.biz/piralogs.htm.

And now I must to explain word “LASTâ€

I'm sorry to hear that you have lost your job and are having to suspend your shortwave listening.

I've regularly visited your site to see what you are hearing in southern Poland and to listen to your recordings.

I hope you have success in finding a new job very soon.

We will miss you, in the pirate world.
But i hope, and i am sure, that your situation will be better soon, and then you will be back behind your radio.

Thank you guys very much for kind words. I will try to negotiate price about server of my webpage. It will be no updates (2-3 upcoming weekends only), but I hope I will be able to return next year. If yes, it could be good idea not to delete whole webpage. No one knows what happens with me in near future. All is possible – even work in Holland. Maybe I resume my hobby after 20years or after 2 months. But only one is sure – I will have less time for any activity.
You can expect one more post on ALI when I will stop completely updating my page.
In city where I live I am able to receive only few the strongest stations, so I’m going sometimes to switch my radio on or go for a trip and use couple meters of wire and log more station (but winter is not the best to do this).

Hello Michal!

Thank you very much for your interesting reports here in the ALI forum. I wish you the very best for your future. I hope to hear from you in any way. I think there are a lot of possibilities for jobs in the Netherland (and for your hobby too.)
I know some people from Poland working in NL. Work is all right, but it is very hard for them to see their families very rarely.

So I wish you the best for your future again.

I've just paid for next year, so my webpage will not disappear. In mid october (it depends on weather) I'm going to close the place where I can listen to HF stations. So any updates will be rare. How long such state will last knows only a fortune-teller.
It's nice to read so many posts here. THX...
