US pirate for Europe's early birds

Post by Ray Lalleu »

US pirate station MAC shortwave heard this morning about 5 UTC on 6925 approx.

So maybe worth a try on early mornings on the next few days...

Aha!

Good tip Ray! I haven´t tried 6925 that time in the morning. Not too early here at my place as we are +3 h now summertime. Do you hear US-stations often at your place? :D
I am at a party at the moment so no DX for me tonight I´m afraid...

Hi Jan !

Bingo again on Monday morning. But the storm noises were there too. Maybe the US stations were also there on Saturday or Sunday, but I was sleeping.

Maybe at 5 UTC, it's too late for you in summer : the path should be in the dark for the most of its length. Then, there are mysterious things in the ionosphere... Good conditions now over the ocean up to 7 MHz.

Most of the time, the path is open only in late night so I don't know if it is very often. And around 5 UTC, no stations are on in the middle of the week.
