Westcoast Finland log; 4 & 5 April

Post by Jan II »

The last time that I on one day heard more stations from England than from Holland must have been 20 years ago. On sunday it happened again! 3-2 to England. With some luck there could have been even more british stations; SW-Pirate, Bogusman, Merlin, Pandora, Telstar South etc. Also Caroline North and Sonnet knocking on the door. The british scene looks good right now. Is it the spring?

But overall the result of this weekend was poor. On sunday I had the feeling that I only heard the top of the iceberg. Looking at Marcos log from Germany it also was that way. What kind of magic does he use to hear all that??? I am impressed. :pirate-great:

Saturday 4 April

6285 0755 Radio Altrex playing dutch music. Waltz, schlager... Too weak for enjoyable listening this time. 15211
6870 0812 PlayBack International with blues from Murphy´s Saloon. 25333

Sunday 5 April

4024,6 2143 Laser Hot Hits with old hits, perhaps only medium hot nowadays. Good reception. 35333
6202,8 0733 Radio Scotland International played disco. 35433
6220 2130 Mystery Radio with nonstop music, mostly disco. 35433
6305 0628 Radio Black Power very strong this morning playing all kind of music. Sign off around 0720. 45444
6870 2125 PlayBack International with nonstop music. 45544
6925 2111 Spider Radio signing off. Played the trumpet-close down-song two times. 35433
12257,1 0802 WR International ending the news and continued with Gerry Rafferty "Baker Street". Better signal this sunday but I still can´t copy all talking. How about 1 kW next sunday Dave? 25322
13955 1420 Best of British Radio faded up from zero to 25312. After some minutes gone again. Well done anyway with "tubes made of sand from beaches of northern Scotland". The few songs I heard were of course british. Queen, Human League...

And a lot of weak carriers and fragments of music on and around 48 mb drowning in the noice.

Radio: NRD 525G.
Antenna: outdoor wire, 20 metres long.

See you again next weekend all stations.
