Post by Dave Valko »

6215.2 R. Cactus 2134 mx at t/in, then jingles, and finally a clear Cactus R. jingle over mx at 2134. Web rx. Checked on own receiver, not expecting to hear anything, but found it was there and with audio!! (13 Sept.)

13 September 2008: Heard R. Cactus on the Bedfordshire Web receiver, and was shocked to hear the signal at 2137 when I checked on own receiver. Immediately gathered the Eton E1 and portable recorder and headed up to the remote site hoping that they wouldn’t sign off before I got set up and listening. Indeed, still on when I started just 13 minutes later. Also had Playback and presumed WMR at the same time.

RX: Eton E1
ANT: 315' Beverage (BOG) at about 50°..
QTH: Pennsylvania State Game Lands #26, north parking lot.
Duration: 2150-2305 UTC
Solar Indices: Solar Flux = 66, A Index = 2, K Index = 0 No storms.
WX: A little sunshine as it set, and also waves of thin fog. Temp low 70’s F.

6215.2 R. Cactus 2150 western mx w/jingle. 2153 ID. Into Rock mx w/jingle. 2154 M w/canned R. Cactus ID and screaming. Someone w/huge signal was coming on and anncing “test, 1-2-3 testâ€
