European Free Radio Report for week ending December 16, 2007

Post by curious george »

My original post got deleted by accident, so here it is again:

Conditions have been improving the past two weekends, but the only chance I had to listen was early this morning, in the middle of a winter storm. Static levels were very high, but I was happy to log a new station, despite the poor weather.

Mystery Radio was at S7 levels here on 6220 kHz. Also, the following carriers were detected:

6209.7 at 0750 UTC
6214.1 at 0750 UTC (probably Baluarte)
6300 at 0805 UTC
6310+ around 0740 UTC

PIRATE (Europe-NL). 6309.66, Radio Paardenkracht, 0736-0754 Dec 16, At tune-in, heard two pop ballads that I didn't recognize (possibly sung in Dutch) by a female singer. At 0740, "good morning" with ID in Dutch "Paardenkracht" and English, "Horsepower", then phonetic spelling of their e-mail address. More soft music followed, but noise levels greatly increased due to the freezing rainstorm here. SINPO 23232. (Maroti-NY)

Can anyone confirm that it was Paardenkracht on approximately 6309.7 kHz? I could not get any audio from the other station that was on at the same time, slightly above 6310 kHz.

Hello George,

It could be I was th eone who delete your post, during the spam removel. Perhaps I hit the wrong button, I'm sorry for that. I am sure it was R. Paardenkracht as some dx-er wrote met he was on air on 6310kc around that time. Reading the post from Marcel it must be Paardenkracht.

Thanks for posting again ;)
