Goverment piracy!

Post by Bycross Radio »

Did anyone hear the 'numbers' station in the 48mb last night (around 6.6 -6.8mhz)? I heard it at 11:40 calling 'Message. Message. Group 8. Message'. The voice was typical female computorised stuff. The station then launched into ten mins of phonetic alphabet - I have a recording if anyone wishes. i am guessing this is a NATO transmission? The transmission ended shortly before 12pm midnight.l

Heard them a few times on 6275 last couple of weeks. Signal strengths around S7 - S9+20

Can be anything from training exercises to actual orders. Most heavy stuff goes satellite though.

Biggest numbers countries, IIRC, are Israel, US and Cuba.

There's a few good books and mags on these. Popular Communications is a good resource.

Cheers!

There's a yahoo group that follows these transmissions (Enigma 2000) though membership is restricted and it's not easy to join.

There are a number of stations listed in the 6.7 to 6.995 MHz range in their latest newsletter. The station on 6270 is known as E10 which is a Mossad transmission. More Israeli intervention in the 48mb...!

Thanks! I've heard several now, but this was the only one in Phonetic Alphabet.
