Glasgow SW log, Saturday 24th + Sunday 25th Feb

Post by undigest »

Pretty good conditions, lots of stable signals on Sunday before the local televisions wiped everything out after 11am...

Saturday 24th
----------------

6300kHz, West Coast playing "Runaway" and giving reports at 1323UTC. 24222

6300kHz, Radio Skyline International, ID and giving reports at 1345. 24222.

Sunday 25th
--------------

5725kHz, Orion Radio, a rock solid 44444 from 0743 till past 0950UTC.

6210kHz, Bogusman playing Human League and 10,000 Maniacs at 1147. 44444.

6220kHz, Mystery Radio, playing pop at 0702. 45433.

6239kHz, BRI announcing a test transmission to Europe and North America at 0817. 43333 (when not hammered by a very strong pulsing UTE).

6270kHz, Radio Borderhunter playing "American Woman" at 1033 followed by ID in German. 34333.

6285kHz, Radio Blackbird (tentative) thanking Jaroslav for SMS at 0958. Thought I caught Blackbird ID at 1019, but not sure. 24222.

6300kHz, Radio Bonofox, playing "Yellow Sun of Ecuador" at 0804, and IDing as "one of the smaller stations from the Netherlands" at 0818. 34322.

6300kHz, two UNIDs fading in and out, almost co-channel causing bad het at 0928. Someone playing "Heartbeat" on the frequency at 1012...

6310kHz, Paardenkracht, non-stop music before ID at 0814. 34333.

6325kHz, Lycos Radio, with ID and email at 0858. 34222.

6375kHz, West Coast, playing "Wang Dang Doodle" at 0821. 34322.

6401kHz, WMR with news about Radio Carousel at 0936. 33332 with UTE QRM.

6524kHz, Radio Ramona, giving ID and email address at 1046 and playing American radio podcast at 1110. 24322.

Approx 6925kHz -- I'm sure I heard a couple of seconds of SSTV here at 0938, but it had gone before I got the software running.

All freqencies +/- a few kHz...
FRG-7 + indoor wire + matching transformer.

Best to all,

Peter

Hello.

Your two UNID's on 6300:

You heard on station at 10.12, three minutes later I heard Antonio Radio with ID and oldies mx. It could be them.

All the best Peter

Hello Peter, yes it was me you heard at 6285.
Send you some pictures and a letter already, but thanks for listen in to me.
Maybe try antennes outside, will give much better results!

Thanks, guys: I think I'm stuck with the indoor wire as long as I'm in this apartment, but yes, it's very noisy. The matching transformer makes a noticeable improvement, though...

All the best,

Peter
