To North America, Europe and Africa.
Daily 20.00 - 20.25 utc in EE.
Hope that helps Boris.
Although I guess that blocks up another freq for us pirates
Hi Boris,
A very useful website is Eike Bierwirth's frequency order
shortwave schedule at http://www.eibi.de.vu/
If you find a station on 48 metres and it doesn't sound like a pirate check this site and you can see if any legal stations are operating on that frequency at that time.
Just click on the 'freq-B06.txt' link to bring up the listings. It shows Israel using 6280 between 0430-0500UTC and 2000-2100UTC.

Plenty more ''non-pirate' stations in the 48mb as well as Israel pinching valuable pirate frequencies...
Audible at present time (17:00 GMT, 5 Jan 07):
6230 Radio Cairo, Egypt 59++
6235 Radio DMR, Moldavia 59++
6245 Radion Zamaneh, (Iran?) 59++
6285 Voice of Korea, Korea 55
Can also hear a weak carrier on 6260 playing music but too weak to identify.
Not many frequencies left!

Over the years we had lot of these legal broadcasters. Most of them are gone or used frequency only for weeks. Also normally thats no problem.Not yet. Band is often free, between the legal programs. I have 10 crystals for 48m. Thats enough. Never happend I found no free QRG.
Have a nice weekend..

Actually, 5900 - 6200 kHz in the international 49 metre shortwave band. 5730 - 5900 is shared between Fixed and Land Mobile services and 6200 - 6535 is Maritime Mobile (check here) So international broadcasters should not be in the range 5700 - 5900 or 6200 - 6300. They call such broadcasting 'out of band' - they themselves even recognise that it's not strictly legal.5800-6300 kHz is the international 49 meter shortwave band. No wonder the international broadcasters use this band.....
Instead they pretend that the services are links between sites and thus can legally use the fixed bands. As for stations in the 6200+ range, which clearly aren't maritime mobile at all, they're just plain pirating and in theory could be rosecuted under UN law!!

On condition that harmful interference is not caused to the maritime mobile service, the bands 6 200-6 213.5 kHz and 6 220.5-6 525 kHz may be used exceptionally by stations in the fixed service, communicating only within the boundary of the country in which they are located, with a mean power not exceeding 50 W.
That's unbelivable .... same story today (08.01.2007)
06285 / 06280.00 /06245 / are a 'really' EXCEPTIONALLY case .....
