Some logs from a very windy Guernsey

Post by Robin Banneville »

Hi Folks,

Here are a few stations I managed to receive throughout the day, mainly on 48m. Conditions this morning appeared quite reasonable, if a bit variable. A pity the same couldn't be said about the weather conditions though, with storm force winds bringing down trees, etc... Luckily the tree that holds up my makeshift longwire aerial is still standing :)

Sunday 3rd December, 2006

Time UTC : Freq kHz : SIO : Station : Notes ...

06.50 : 6220.10 : 333 : Mystery
07.40 : 6279.90 : 333 : Orion : Later QSY'd to avoid QRM
07.44 : 6210.30 : 333 : Cupid : Closed at 09.35 ish
07.50 : 6287.70 : 444 : Alfa Lima Int.
07.54 : 6304.90 : 344 : Orion : Having QSY'd from 6279.9 kHz
08.10 : 6305.00 : 333 : Delta : Unintentionally transmitting over the top of Orion
08.39 : 6293.70 : 343 : Alfa Lima Int. : Having QSY'd from 6287.7 kHz
08.55 : 6299.40 : 222 : UNID : (Quintus maybe..?)
09.06 : 6401.05 : 333 : WMR
09.10 : 6265.00 : 222 : Premier Radio Int.
10.30 : 6425.00 : 111 : (Ascona?) : (Pres.) Weak signal, too weak to truly ID
10.33 : 6210.00 : 344 : Borderhunter : Closed at 11.10 ish
11.15 : 6315.00 : 222 : (Radio Blackbeard?) : ID not 100%. A bit noisy, with muffled mic audio. UK station? Child also heard with OM. Mx included Meat Loaf.
11.40 : 6280.00 : 111 : UNID : Dutch ? mx
11.55 : 6524.00 : 111 : (Ramona?) : (Pres.) Weak signal here. No literal ID. Heard playing "Days of Pearly Spencer".
13.55 : 6275.00 : 122 : Laser Hot Hits
14.00 : 6269.80 : 233 : UNID : OM with dance mx
15.00 : 6292.20 : 344 : Antonio Radio
15.05 : 6310.00 : 233 : UNID : Contx pop mx. (Malaisy maybe..?)
15.06 : 6300.00 : 222 : UNID : Dutch ? mx. Fading into the noise at times.

----------------------------------------------

Some of the SIO ratings noted here were very variable. Plus weak entries like Ascona or Ramona, would probably be much better if I improved my aerial somewhat. But for now I will just have to make do.

73's all,
Robin

This: 11.40 : 6280.00 : 111 : UNID : Dutch ? mx
Could have been FluxAM although with this little info it is always difficult.

Tnx for the suggestion Michel. Sorry it's a bit vague. I was going to return to the freq later and see if I could get a bit more info off it, but I was called away at midday and never got the chance.
This one will have to remain as UNID.
