Pirate logs for sunday morning 19/11/06.

Here we are then, my very first day listening on the 48 meter band!

The very first station heard from 9:00 -9:35 am GMT was Radio Scotland.
Very clear audio, although the mic sounded a little muffled. Heavy fading.
Freq: 6300 KHZ

From 9:35 onwards to 10AM I listened to WMR- a very enjoyable program, audio good, microphone very crisp. Again, heavy fading.
Lots of talk about jamming and Radio Woodstock.
Freq: 6400 KHZ

Radio Atlantis heard briefly- fairly weak but clear. Disappeared during the fadding.

At 10:40 I came across the BOOMING signal of Radio spaceman, presented by 'Major Tom'. An absolutly wonderful program. Great choice of music and very strong, clear signal. I have the Pobox if anyone missed it:
Radio Spaceman PObox 737160 AB Neede The Netherlands.
Terrific audio, very little fading. A very enjoyable broadcast, sounding brilliant on my Valve radio set.

Later on, on this frequency or similar, a very strong German station started, playing three U2 tracks in a row. Could anybody say who they were?

Radio BorderHunter was picked up from 11:30 onwards. Another great program, fairly strong signal, subject to medium fading. Excellent Choice of tracks.

I also picked up two weak UNIDS.

All in all, a great morning. I thank all the broadcasters out there. Equipment used was a 1950's HMV model 1120 Valve radio set (a true boatanchor!) and ten meters of inverted 'L' antenna.

Spaceman is still on 6280, i heard him playing some U2 tracks at 1158 UTC so maybe it was the same you heard then. s-8 to 9 at the moment.

Hi Bycross Radio,

First: a big welcome to the SW scene!
Always a pleasure to meet new listeners on SW/MW.

Nice to see the first station you heard was R.S.I.... :D
Thanks for the report,
Greetings, Albert.

Thankyou for making my morning :D Are you still going now (2:15PM)-I can hear a station that sounds like you but with considerable fading.

Anyway, keep up all the good work!

Also to add to the log: One of the UNIDS turns out to be Radio Scirrocco (spelling?).
