European Free Radio Report

Like the last 2 weekends, we experienced disturbed conditions again this weekend from yet another Coronal Hole on the Sun. (I wish the timing would change so that they occur during the week and not on the weekends!!!). Since conditions were OK three weeks ago, next weekend should be OK as well taking into account the (roughly) 28 day synodic rotation of the Sun. We'll see. It really wasn't worth the effort going to the remote sites to listen. So there isn't as much to report this time.

6274.94 Laser Hot Hits (pres.) Carrier at 2046. Sounded like mx at 2055. (27 Oct.) Thanks Achim.

3905.18 Just a continuous carrier at 2300 amid Ham net QRM. Couldn't get any audio. George Maroti also had it while we were on MSN Messenger. (27 Oct.)

6305.2 R. Mazda (pres.) Just a carrier at 2002. (28 Oct.) Reported by Gert on 6305.1 at 1940 on the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6220.04 Mystery R. Already getting audio at 2003!! Oddly gone at 2039 check though. (28 Oct.)

6306.18 UNID. Carrier at 2040, but not there at 2126 check. (28 Oct.) Reported as UNID. at 1905 by uk dxer, and as R. Lowland at 1939 by Jari in the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6210.04 IRF510?? Only a carrier at 2127. (28 oct.)

6298.1 R. Fox 48 Carrier at 2127. Found out it was Mike when I got on MSN Messenger. Couldn't get an audio. (28 Oct.)

6400.98 Weekend Music R. 2131 After getting George Maroti's e-mail that this was on, found it here and immediately recognized Jack Russells voice. Mx followed at 2135 but couldn't recognize it. Seemed like a discussion at 2138. Ment of Scotland. Nice canned ID at 2142 and back to mx. Dance mx at 2156, and more anmnts at 2157. Tlk at 2203. Canned ID during mx at 2206 and more discussion or tlk excerpts. Rock mx at 2216. Too much QRM from UTE above and North Korea 6398 below. Thanks George. (28 Oct.)

6299.3 Cupid R. 2220 While we were on MSN Messenger, Rinus got on the air briefly. Just strains of music. Occas. pulsing UTE QRM. (28 Oct.)

6259.4 Cupid R. came on at 2231 after Paradox R. (6258) went off to give him a signal report. No audio but Rinus confirmed it was him. There was no sign of Paradox R. here. (28 Oct.)

Solar Flux = 75 A Index = 4 K Index = 4 No storms.

6875.38 IRF610 Could only get an extremely weak carrier at 0634. Conditions just too poor. (29 Oct.) Reported at 0631 by Jari in the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6315.44 R. Blackbird 0648 just caught end of anmnt by M as I tuned in w/ment of "...from the Netherlands..." (but unfortunately wasn't running the recorder). 0651 M again briefly sounding like Alfred of ALI "This...radio...you are...radio listener. What do I have for the...". Another brief anmnt at 0654 mentioning "And good...(laughing)...we really...radio...from the Netherlands. But ah...to blackbird@wanadoo...you can write..." Into mx. 0701 M anncr w/very brief anmnt but couldn't copy. Horrible pulsing UTE QRM from NMN (ID in code). Clearest in LSB but still QRMred. Maybe extremely weak carrier at 0721 when conditions went downhill. (29 Oct.) Confirmed it was Blackbird by Jari and Gerts log in Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6210 Classic Rock R. (pres.) 0706 mx but couldn't recognize the song. 0707 UTE started. Getting bits of mx at 0716. Still in at 0800. (29 Oct.) Reported by WNKR at 0936 and Gert at 0733, but Achim had IRF510 at 0811(on the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board).

6205 UNID. Something here at 0711, and definitely mx at 0723. Poss. M anncr at 0727. Who would this be?? (29 Oct.)

6274.95 Laser Hot Hits (pres.) Just a very weak carrier at 0725. No hope really. (29 Oct.) LHH reported by Achim at 0725 in the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6299.97 Orion R. (pres.) Carrier here at 0734. Much too weak. (29 Oct.) Was to start at 0730 here per op John's e-mail.

6264.9 Premier R. Int.??? Extemely weak carrier here at 0744. (29 Oct.) Reported on 6265 at 0841 by Gert in the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6237 Extremely weak carrier here too at 0745. Still in there at 0754. (29 Oct.)

6401.02 Weekend Music R. Carrier at 0756. Still there at 0802 but no chance w/horrible UTE just above though. (29 Oct.) Reported at 0652 by Jari in the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board.

6320 Only a carrier at 0803. (29 Oct.)

6300 Orion R. Carrier just before and after 0800. Don't know if this is related to 6299.97 noted at 0734 (see above) which I assume was Orion R. (29 Oct.) Orion R. reported here by Gert at 0756 in the Alfa Lima Free Radio Board..

I really hate to report carriers since nothing substantial is heard, but about half the time they do turn out to be stations. If any of you can help, I'd be most grateful. Thanks.

thanks for the logs, much appreciated. Indeed it was me, was moving over the band, because some other come on the same freq.

Hello Dave and very nice you could hear me overthere.
From the bits you wrote there, I can see that was me!!
After every record i played, I give my ID, and some small talks so now and then.
I do this because it's hard for you guys out there to wait when someone is only playing music.
So it really works out I see!!
