London Calling.

Post by Andy Richards »

I really don't have much time to listen or post at the moment.

But even with a quick tune today I heard 14 stations.Better than some Sundays when conditions were poorer.
It is getting better.

Quite a lot of them were pretty strong too.

Bogusman was one of the strong ones.Usual good mix of indie rock & Chat.

Geronimo tried something interesting today."Talk Radio".I wonder if they were inspired by Oscar the Engineers comments in Radio User Magazine........either way it was nice for a change, but personally I prefer the "Rock & Radio" format.
Very good signal again.

Merlin were a pretty strong signal too & did quite a long broadcast.Music for everyone too.

I briefly heard Phoenix Radio too.But not for as long as I would have liked.

Delta Radio were a huge signal.Second strongest signal today.Very nice mod,but at a price............splatter for 15Khz both ways............sounded like the old Tower TX........:-(

Scotland was flitting about on different frequencies & forgetting to put his glasses on...........:-)
Great signal & mod as usual Albert!

Paardenkracht had a nice clear channel on 6325 & once again played a really interesting mix of music.
Mod was a bit "Tinny" but nice & clear.

Magic AM was on 6325 later & by contrast he had some really good bass to his mod.

The big news of the day of course was the return of The Spaceman.Too long since we last heard The Major!
(I reckon about 9 months!)A sure sign that conditions on SW are getting better if he is back.
It goes without saying that he had a huge signal & great mod.........how does he keep doing it?

I didn't catch Orion or Borderhunter this morning as I couldn't listen that early.

But the strongest of the signals I heard today was Spaceman.Delta was a pretty close second, but his splatter let him down. Then Bogusman, Geronimo,Scotland,Merlin & Magic.
