Some nontypical Sunday logs from Southern Poland

Post by Foton »

After several weeks of bad weaher finally Sun appeared today over Poland. As I mentioned few weeks ago I must to stop to use my remote SWL site (hope temporarily) so I lost possibility of listening most of AM stations. Because I live in a city, in multiflat house, at home noise level is too high.
Beautiful weather encouraged me to take portable RX to park which is located 2km from me (today I visided cemetery located near this park).
I supposed I could hear only the strongest stations like Mystery or PBI. But reality was better than my thoughts. Below results of two fast scans of SW band. I spend not more than 10 minutes on listening each time, so in most cases I've used Iann, UKDXer or Achim logs for ID purposes. In addition frequency given by me in list means frequency of best reception and could be shifted due to QRM avoiding.

I was not prepared for noting details, so all data I recovered from my memory later when I returned home, so some mistakes are possible. I do not give SINPOs. All stations was enough strong to be IDed if I had more time to listening (O=2-5)

QTH: Gliwice, Southern Poland, municipal park
RX: Degen 1103
Antenna: 5meters of long wire, partially among branches, partially laying simply on ground

Time: 0940-0950 UTC

5815 Orion Radio - heard John greetings listeners (eg Jaroslav) at the end of programme
6210 tent. Radio Paardenkracht
6220 tent. Radio Mystery with typical music
6260 Radio Saxonia, giving ID - big surprice for me, that this low power station was audible
6292 tent. Condor Radio - Trance music - very big and nice surpice. Condor never was strong here even with use of big antenna
6310 tent. Greenstadt Radio; another signal heard here (possibly my receiver fault)
6325 tent. Radio Continental
6870 Radio Playback Int.

Time 1220-1230 UTC

6220 Radio PBI/Mystery - heard JJ voice and song which usually start or finish PBI programmes
6280 Radio Merlin Int. giving ID "R-M-I"
6306 Radio Brandaris - clear signal - giving ID, nice to hear "very good afternoon"
6325 tent. Radio Mustang
6375 tent. Radio Marconi, playing Tears For Fears
6424 tent. Radio Pionier or VotN - strong QRMs
6870 Radio PBI/Mystery

Probably also Radio Amica was heard here but I forgot to check it.

Not big list but from the other side reach taking into consideration it was only 2x10mins of scanning.

Hope weather will make possible to visit park soon and make more detailed logs. But winter is so close...:(

Best greetings
