14 December 2008: The only ‘barometer station’ on the air this morning when I awoke at 0615 UTC was 4024.6 LHH. It was there but not very strong. No Mystery R. or Playback Int. The MUF over western Europe was a low 4 mhz. So it was another tough decision. In the end, I decided to take a chance. Had the weather been worse, I wouldn’t have gone. Conditions showed some promise early, but deteriorated after 0745 and never recovered. There was (quick) fading also. I was able to log 13 stations however. It was much easier laying out the antenna wire. All I had to do was follow my tracks in the snow from yesterday!!

6209.82 R. Telstar South 0710 mx here w/what sounded like a het from another signal on 6210. 0714 usual slick-sounding M DJ w/ID anmnts, song anmnt at 0715, and more voice-over anmnts. Couple nice peaks at 0732 and 0744, but really dropped down by 0800. Gone at 0806 check, but was there a few minutes earlier. Maybe due to 6205 stn?? (14 Dec.)
4024.6 LHH 0740 mx just audible, but always a noisy area. And now there’s a signal on 4023 causing QRM. (14 Dec.)
