On 3908 kHz, this station is Radio Atlantis Int.
I heard another dutch station on 3927 kHz, but I can't identify.

thank you toutais for the id, and thank you to Radio Atlantis for your help.

We did come on at 1700utc.

Thank you for the cooperation. Much appreciated.

Incidentally the reason we switch freq on a Sunday to 3945 is to avoid the station of 3910 who has been there for years, since 1991 or 1990??

That is a typically stupid Dutch comment. as like everyone transmits with more than 1 KW, any less then its QRP.
It really is time that some of the Dutch broadcasters realise that they are in a unique position.
Most of Europe dare only transmit a handful of watts, NL on the other hand has been lucky that the authorities dont move too fast.
In the UK for example If we ran 500 watts from home week in week out, they would have us shut down in double quick time.

Maybe, but don't blame Atlantis or other Dutch op's for that.
It's throughout possible that due to the QRP power used and/or actual propagation conditions, sometimes reception is not possible in NL and/or the rest of Europe and the 'band' seems free to use.

Hello Axel,

to be honest, I did not change anything particular. At least not that I am aware about.
Nevertheless, thanks for your posting, and nice to know you like the S-meter. :P

I think what we have here is a genuine misunderstanding.

Atlantis checked & double checked the fx was OK but it was not.

WMR accept it was a genuine mistake.

No problem then.

Atlantis comments about qrp are not acceptable.Dave Martins reaction, though understandable is also not acceptable.

So where are we here?

NL Pirates can(At the moment) get away with a lot more than anyone else.
The rest of us may be a little jealous. But that is no reason for Atlantis to make the comments he made, nor for Dave to lose his rag.

Let's all cool it a bit & enjoy the free radio we have.

With EC legislation being made uniform across Europe I think that the Pirate situation in NL will change fairly soon and then we will all miss the Dutch "Super Pirates".

Operators & listeners - please enjoy it while you can..........the Socialist EC state is soon going to stop our fun............or at least make life a little more difficult for the NL operators.

I for one will miss the big Dutch stations but some may be pleased when we are all playing on an even field.

Trust me,it will happen.

Hi Andy,
i think the Dutch pirates will go on like they used to do and don't care about any law.

Radio Atlantis made a joke about the QRP, he was not serious, i don't know how the sence of humour is over seas heh.

Hi Ramona,

>Hi Andy,

I wish this was true. But in my opinion your situation will only continue for a few years more(So make the most of it!) and eventually the Dutch authorities will be forced by Brussels or Strasbourg to clamp down hard.
Operating a Pirate station in the NL will be the same as in the rest of Western Europe, you will no longer be able to operate from your homes. How many operators will give up rather then having to run low power TX's with pre-recorded programmes from fields or woods?(Like the rest of us have to!)I can't imagine many of our favorite Dutch stations would continue.

>Radio Atlantis made a joke about the QRP, he was not serious, i don't know >how the sence of humour is over seas heh.

In my experience the sense of humour in Europe is very similar everywhere. It is just that Atlantis did not seem to be aware that his comments sound condescending to the rest of us who are not in your fortunate position.
You have to understand how much hard work is involved in setting up a "Mobile" transmission. If you are jammed one week it is no big deal,so you wasted an hour or so on air.But for a mobile operator it is many hours work gone to waste. You will understand this when things change in the NL.

Hope I'm wrong about all this, but I fear I'm not.
