Hi Rob,

I think that's a great idea, and will hopefully get some more stations on the air.

I'll be happy to try to hear any of these homebrewed transmitters, so give some advance notice, and possibly a late night or higher frequency transmission (9-15 Mhz), and we might hear it in the USA.

I too think it is a great idea.Had a quick look at the Dutch site that Rob posted the bet on and there are some very good links to schematics there.Perthaps if someone could translate the idea into English(Alfred?) someone else into German,Italian(I'll do a French translation!)We could make this truly European.

Hi Rob,

What I meant was that all the postings on the Dutch messageboard, were of course,in Dutch. So most of us don't understand what is happening.Perhaps your idea was best.Maybe if I post on there in English I will get English responses and the rest of Europe will understand what is happening too!

Thanks for alerting us to this test transmission.

But can you clarify the times for us?

Are you saying that the test time is approximately 2000 UTC on Saturday?
How long will the test last?

(When you said "around the clock", that means you will keep the transmitter on all day. I don't think that is what you really meant).

I will monitor 6552 this evening & will report back on this messageboard tonight.

THE CHALLENGE! ( THE BET)

Hello Andy and everybody. I try to translate the original Challenge ( bet) from Rob in english:

If you don't mind?

I start a separate subject about this:

THE CHALLENGE! ( THE BET)

Were actual a joke! But nevertheless a nice idea!!! and so..........................

In principle you are able build everything itself! But that goes to far!
Let's hope we all have reasonable shortwave receiver.
What is the intention?

MAKE YOUR OWN SHORTWAVE TRANSMITTER!

On which frequency?
Between 6200 and 6400KHZ - the AM

How much Watt?
The capacity does not matter!

But what is then the intention?
The intention is that you live fun! (is even obliges!)

Yes but what is the aim?
The aim is that somebody hear you with your home brew SW transmitter.

Yes but at who?
Lets say this way:
You are of course a hero if you are heard with almost no capacity over a long distance!
BUT,
it is already enormous good if you were heard with something simple throughout the Netherlands!

How can you win?
Nobody does! It concerns here the kick!
Although!?
There is of course, however, looked at against you on if you with a hand full cheap goods,
MAKE A LONG DISTANCE!

And further?
And further it seems nice to me if you have fun have!

And then?
Perhaps you finds it nicely and becomes/remains you pirate!
OR!
Do you go still a step further and do precede you your licence?
What you want! In all cases I wish you much success!

If I have more information I'll write it between the lines, however,!

Do you participate? There are some dx-ers listening in Germany already!

Of course You can use http://babelfish.altavista.com/ for online translating the Dutch forum. The translated Dutch is not correct Engish, but now you know what they are talking about.
