Hi everyone:

A real mixture of conditions this week. Monday to Thursday was quite good. I got my first clear ID from CoolAM on Monday, heard Pacman and RSM for the first time on Wednesday, and Thursday saw a number of US stations on early at good levels.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, however, were horrible. The noise level was very high, and signals were well below their usual strength, resulting in many barely audible loggings.

I hope this trend does not continue, since I will be working late Monday-Thursday for the next few months, and my listening will be restricted mostly to weekends.

Hi Terry,

Your log of R.Scotland on Friday looks very much like my own log on Saturday : music till 2035, then blank carrier for a short while, and at 20.36 short ID and shutdown of TX, on 6307 kHz as well. Are you sure that your log with end of music at 20.35 was well on Friday ? (Scotland also heard on Saturday by Irish Paul, maybe by Rick in Finland, but nobody else than you on Friday).

An other problem with the station on 3916 and 3920 on Wednesday: I heard it with the fq switch at 21.21, but the ID at 21.26 was R. Noorderlicht. The C/D was at 21.35 and the QSO with Pacman began at 21.36. I wonder if "radio RSM" you got from Iann site could be an other small station trying to take part in the QSO ?

Hi Ray:

I believe you are correct about Radio Scotland. I mislabeled that audio file with the wrong date. Since I often do my logs from my audio files, rather than keeping a proper "logbook", mistakes like this probably will happen occassionally. Thank you for pointing this one out.

For the second log you mention, I did not hear a Nooderlicht ID, but the op did confirm my reception in Iann's chat as RSM.

Cheers, Terry
