Westcoast Finland log: March 15 & 16

Post by Jan II »

Both days time to listen in the early morning, one hour around 1430 and in the evening. I missed all mid day stations, pity.

Saturday March 15

3935 1928 Radio Rainbow with music from the 80's. "Born to be alive"
6264 1904 unid greek station playing music. Also on friday evening the same time.
6264,8 0816 Radio Calypso with schlagers. ID at 0958.
6275,5 0830 Laser Hot Hits and "We love the piratestations". Better signal around 1000. Also at 1534.
6310,2 1436 Radio Valencia with Bruce Springsteen, Joan Jett etc. Sign off at 1455.
6311,1 1844 Radio l'Arboc playing swingmusic.
6315 1451 unid strong dutch station with a short test signed off. Another one answerd and signed off. Was busy with Valencia and Pionier so I missed their IDs. Would sometimes be nice to have two radios...
6325,8 1439 R Pionier with schlagers and a rough sound. Slipped down to 6324 at 1440. Signed off or moved away 1448, that time on 6323 kHz.
6882 1832 PlayBack International with an old radioplay from the 50's, a comedy with "Mr Wellman". Maybe a parody of president Truman..?
6925 2224 Spider Radio faded in late this evening, not heard earlier.

Sunday March 16

3935 2010 Radio Rainbow and "Penny Lane". No sign of 4025 this weekend.
5815 0815 Orion Radio playing "Love hurts". I read somewhere that Orion-John loves tube transmitters and his dog. Yes, love hurts if you touch seven glowing tubes or an angry dog... Thanks for this morningshow!
6210 0730 Laser Hot Hits with a fair signal but faded away after 0800. Also in the evening around 2025.
6220 0649 Mystery Radio playing John Lennon. Good signal in the morning and very good in the evening.
6264 2006 unid greek station playing music. 1566 kHz was filled with legal superpowers, so I couldn´t check if it was 4 x 1566 kHz.
6264,8 1425 Radio Calypso was joddeling, playing polka and schlagers. ID at 1512.
6300 1410 Radio Tornado with a new discoshow. Interfered by an other dutch station on 6299,6 signing on 1417 "hello...hello..." and off again 1421. No idea who that was...
6312,2 2000 Radio l'Arboc with big IDs on the hour. Strong signal. When I checked again 2020, they had signed off.
6315 0657 Radio Lowland in schlagermood this morning. Strong signal as always. Armchair listening with my morning coffee. Sign off at 0839.
6528 2111 unid greek station with SINPO 25442. It came from mediumwave, 4 x 1632 kHz. On 1632 SINPO 44544. Must be many kilowatts behind this signal. 1600-1740 kHz was filled with greek stations this evening. Short QSOs. Big round on 1692 with Superstar, Millivolt, Kalisteras, Apostolis, "Avosimedia"?, a station from Saloniki etc. (Not sure of the spelling of these stations... or if they are stations...eh...
6882 0738 PlayBack International with radioplay. 1525 with radioplay. 2008 with radioplay.
6925 2140 Spider Radio playing "If you leave me now". Fading up this hour.

Thank you all stations, great shows!

And now after this magnificent winterweekend with a lot of skiing; a burning hot Sauna. Love hurts! :D

I receive this station (spur?) vy often as strong and vy distorted signal. In this way this frequency is here totally blocked. You are lucky if are able to receive somethink else (like Calypso). Also here no possibility to check 1566.

Hello Lan II, thanks for the nice list and logging for Orion Radio. For me it's better to touch my dog, anybody else could better touch the tubes
