Very sad to hear about the raid on Westcoast Radio.

I don't know the full details so I can't really comment too much.

Obviously at this stage we can't really comment about any possible return of Wescoast Radio,so I will just say that the station will be missed.

Thank you Vincent, you have entertained us well in your time on the air(And I'm sure you enjoyed yourself too!!)

Good luck!

Andy , Thanks for the kind words
I had translate the dutch letter on
http://www.am-forum.nl.nu/
in english :
Westcoast Raid 3925 khz. 01-11-2007 13:45
I was testing with an Modulator with higher voltage and made some
adjustments ,
I was walking down to listen to the tuberadio in the livingroom , it was
sounding good , after that i walked to my car to put my parking card at the
good time , a 100 mtr's from i saw some policemen walking ',,and i thought
,,just at time,,...., but they came for another reason ... they say to me
that , they knew that there was an Shortwave TX in use at 3925 khz. ,and
they want entry to my house , i ask for theyre legitimation and other papers
, i saw it , and they came with me to the studio and also AT''s Mr. Walraven
and his colleque arrived , they told me that my transmitter made inteference
to the UK Heathrow Airplane field in Londen , especially to the
transatlantic airtraffic, They enjoy the music, but not the freq. 3925 ....
The 3 young police officers were very impressed of the used equipment and
layout of the studio
i was lucky they take only the four sleeves of the Rohde & Schwarz SK010
transmitter ,
How Further ? The time will learn it.....you must know i,m 30 years active in the pirateworld , the first twenty years on VHF . the last raid was in 1984 on VHF , the fine will be 1100 Euro , but that thing doesnt matters to me , its a sort of contribution for me for the last 23 years ....

look also at the AM Forum at ,,Nieuw en aankondigingen,, topic ,,visite,, many stations and listeners had gaven condoleances , it give me a good feeling in this sad times for me, i will also thanks to the stations who put the news over my raid in their programm, here's a list : Underground Radio, Orion Radio, WMR Scotland and i,m sure i,m forget some names !

Also thanks to two stations who want to give me another Rohde & Schwarz Transmitter .... :P

For all the listeners and stations ,Thanks for the nice hours on shortwave
and good DX

Greetings Vincent Westcoast AM.

I agree. It is sad news about the raid on West Coast, who always had enjoyable programmes and played good music. I was a regular listener.

It seems Vincent was unlucky as a lot of stronger pirate stations have also used 3925-3927. Stations will need to be very careful what frequency they use.

Thanks for the programmes and maybe again in the future.
