European Pirate Report, from Dunlo, PA, USA, 26-27 May 2007

Post by Dave Valko »

Since Free Radio Holland was scheduled to be on the air and Orion R. was going to make another transmission just above 60 meters, I decided to take the rig up to the remote site in the evening. I got set up and started listening by 2155. It was noisy as I knew it would be from thunderstorms in the north and west. Propagation conditions were pretty much normal. It took a while for European pirate signals to improve.

RX: JRC NRD-535D
ANT: 315' Beverage (BOG) at 50°.
QTH: Pennsylvania State Game Lands #26
Duration: 2155-0015 UTC
Solar Indices: S.F. = 68 A Index = 17 K Index = 2 No storms.
WX: Partly cloudy, and warm low 70’s F.

No sign of the Orion R. broadcast on 5180 from 2145-2215. Only heard UTEs on 5185.6 and 5173. John was experimenting. (26 May)
