Jorge Garcia sent me an SMS message that he heard a Dutch station on 6300 kHz at 2215 UTC. He's on vacation in South America at the moment.

I checked 48 meters in New York around that time, and only had carriers on 6300 and 6305 kHz.

Any ideas who was on at that time?

R. Boomerang was SINPO 24322 in Glasgow around 6300kHz at 2216, after making an antenna test on 3922kHz around 2145. Much stronger here on 3922, S9+20.

FRG-7 + indoor wire.

Best to all,

Peter

Was it 'direct reception' or through a remote receiver ?

This was a direct reception by Jorge Garcia, he is in South America for vacation. Receiver was a Kenwood R600, and just a piece of wire 9 meters long, and 1.5 meters high. Here's his comment:

Nice! At short times it was quite good! It was bad that I did not have a recoder at hand. The ant I used was only a piece of 9m. 1.5m high

You can e-mail him direct on his RPI e-mail address. If you don't have it, let me know, and I'll e-mail it to you. I don't want to post it here.

Thanks George, got in contact with Jorge.

Too bad he didn't have a decent receiver and antenna available. Nevertheless, very nice to be informed about such things.
