London Calling.

Post by Andy Richards »

Some good stuff again today.

Orion kicked the day off for me as usual on 5820 with his usual solid signal, which gets stronger later in the morning.By the way, thanks John for the record you played for me,how did you know I would like that
song?

Starlight were a good clear signal on 6200.Seems like a useful frequency.Followed by the big signal of Borderhunter on the same channel.Vastly improved mod Frans.

Scotland popped up here and there with a big signal.Loved the sound of the V12 engine........:-)
I agree Albert, one of the best sounds!!
But for any other Petrolheads out there, just search Youtube for "BRM V16 Sound".That is even more brutal than the V12.

Geronimo had a very good signal too, peaking 55434.

Rainbow were not strong enough for me to really enjoy their show, but it sounded very interesting.

I haven't seen anyone else log Radio Go on 6310,so did I get it wrong?

What I heard of the MAR tribute to Rick Dane via Central sounded pretty interesting too.

Strongest signal with me was Borderhunter, very closely followed by Orion,Scotland,Mustang and Geronimo.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the report!
Yep..i'm a real 'petrolhead'! But i never heard of a BRM V-16, so i looked it up at You Tube.
Amazing! Very old stuff really, but nice! Sounds great!
I knew about the W-16 the engine in a Bugatti Veyron, but that one sounds not as that V-16.
(seen the Bugatti several times at 'Top Gear', not in the real world till now..)

But the best sound for me is coming from a Rolls Royce merlin V-12 or Allison V-12. These engines from ww2 still in use in tractorpulling here. (and in the UK too i believe)
