Westcoast Finland log; 5-6 December

Post by Jan II »

Hello folks!

Nice weekend with many stations on the air. Also some stations that I have not heard before. This is of course great, the piratescene is developing all the time. You never know what will appear on a frequency. :D

On Sunday I didn´t hear the tests around 6810 kHz by Altrex and Central, I simply didn´t check that part of the shortwave. Sometimes it would be nice to have the computer and receiver in the same room and get some tips from Iann's chat, Alfa Lima and other sources. But it is also fun listening on your own, perhaps you hear something the others don´t hear if they all follow each other through the bands ...heh...

It is good we live in a free world and can listen how and to what ever we want. Yesss! :D

FFFR!

Saturday 5 December

3900,5 1703 Sallandse Boer with CCR, "Red river rock" and other nice piratefavourites. Sign off 1717. 35444
3905 2058 ROZ was playing mambo. Greetings to Dr Tim several times. Sign off 2119. 25322
3908 1701 Bluestar Radio The lady-DJ Anita said hello to all listeners in the world. "Televisiepolka" followed. 35433
3940 2121 Radio Jan van Gent playing nonstop c&w-oldies. Still on the air 2152 but had closed 2200. 35333
4025 2153 Laser Hot Hits better and better during the evening, but still not good enough for me to decipher the talking. Laser has not yet come up to the signalstrength it had before the unplanned transmissionstop. 15321
6216,0 0914 King Shortwave Finally I heard and recorded a positive ID from the King. Not on the usual 6215,8! The best signal I have ever heard from them. Nice. 25422
6220 2208 Mystery Radio played U2 in the nonstopprogramme. 45544!
6285 0910 Radio Altrex found here wishing Good morning to Achim in Germany. Sign off 0942. 25433
6300 1335 Radio Tornado playing disco. Prerecorded IDs and emailannouncements as usual. 25333
6303,6 1009 unid musicstation drifting around. Down on 6201,5 at 1012. Sign off 1014. Did not talk. 25322
6310 1248 Radio Northpole with german schlagers. 25333
6316,1 0943 unid reggaestation with a strong signal. Sign off 0947. Delta Lima from Germany was logged by other listeners. Pity I missed this, it was my first glimpse of DL. Hope he will return... 33433
6374,45 1032 Flux AM much stronger this weekend. New transmitter? Suddenly sign off 1039 in the middle of a polka. 35333
6420 2045 Radio Lowland with an eveningshow. Rock and pop. 35433
6870 1732 PlayBack International playing Louis Armstrong in the nonstopprogramme. 45444!
6945 1220 Radio Jan van Gent with nonstop c&w-oldies until sign off 1243. 35232
7800 0949 Radio 7800 with a test and heard with a tiny signal until 0958. Also heard around 1330 with instrumental music. 5 watts. 15421

Sunday 6 December

3940 0704 Radio Jan van Gent continued this morning with c&w-oldies. 35333
4025 0707 Laser Hot Hits suddenly with a good signal. The morning-skip perhaps works better with me? Played "Frozen horse". 35433
6210 0940 Radio Trans Europe moved here from 6305. Sign off 0945 after some thanks for reception reports. 25222
6210,2 1350 Misti Radio playing "Son of Jamaica". A weather report at 1356: "Rain, rain, rain!". Sign off 1359 after clear stationidentifications, e-mailaddress and SMS-number. 25432
6215,8 0732 King Shortwave back on the ordinary fq. Oldies and problems with Mystery-splash this morning. 22432
6220 0713 Mystery Radio with nonstop music/IDs. 45544!
6265 0948 Borderhunter Radio playing dutch music at this hour. 45433
6285 0743 Radio Altrex surprised me with reggae this time, but only one song. Nice show as usual. 25433
6289,8 0807 unid with "El condor pasa". Disappeared after some minutes. Drifting and sounded like the station on 6303 on Saturday. 25322
6300 0905 Radio Brandaris warming up the transmitter with accordeonpolkas. At 0918 it was warm and DJ Vincent gave the hotlinenumber. Hot signal also, 45444!
6300,8 1254 Radio Mustang played some songs and gave a report to Titanic. Sign off 1302. 35333 Also heard later on the same fq with a musicprogramme splashed by Malaisy.
6305 0853 Radio Trans Europe has the most beautiful transmitter in the world. At this hour it brought me oldies such as "Silence is golden" and "I do my crying in the rain". Nice. 25432
6305 1319 Radio Malaisy pumping out dancemusic for the discofloor. All stations from the Island of Nowhere had superb signals all weekend, but I didn´t catch any liveshows. Pity. 35444, later 45444!
6307,2 1241 Radio Titanic with Capitain John flying high in the studio. At this hour he wanted a listener Derk in Romania to send him a SINPO-report by SMS. 35322
6310 0845 Radio Spaceshuttle allowed Nena to sing about her 99 baloons. Weak and wobbling signal, I think 99% was skipping me. Also heard 1233 playing some finnish music "...meiän ratio". 25222 in the tops.
6324 0818 Flux AM with a marathonbroadcast. Still on the air after 1400! It seems the problem with overheating is solved now... 25322
6375,6 1404 Radio Baken 16 was sending greetings to Marco in Germany, also played a samba for him. 25422
6420,3 1221 Radio Dutchwing with christmasmusic. 35433
6424,7 1227 Radio Marconi played Johnny Cash in a short test. Sign off 1231. 35333
6523,4 1251 Radio Ramona with some nice jingles at this hour. There was rap-music on 6523,7 already at 0952, but no ID before I had to leave the radio. That was Radio Northcoast according to various sources. Both stations on the air via the Northcoast-transmitter. 35333
6870 1640 Pirate Music playing disco. Most of the day there was only a blanc carrier on the fq. 35433
6905 0723 Cactus Jack Radio with instrumental "underwater music". 35323
6943 1341 Radio Jan van Gent moved here from 6955. C&w. 25433
6955 1313 Radio Jan van Gent again on the air with nonstop c&w. 25433
7800 0859 Radio 7800 on the air also this day. Music heard until 1000, but weaker signal than on Saturday. 15411

Receiver: NRD 525G.
Antenna: outdoor cupperwire, 20 metres long.

Hi Jan, as known we here in Space love all these tight balloons of Nena!!

And like info, we are willing to skip over our listeners also in future....

So keep your antennas in very high positions.... and let us know if and when ever Spaceshuttle lands to your area....

Keep on rockin... and rolling....

Thanks for your report,

Thank you all stations for the friendly words, I will try to open all eyes and ears next weekend...heh...

Also thanks to those stations that have replied to my reports since last weekend, the superpowers:
Jan van Gent (15 watts) :pirate-great: ,
Radio 7800 (5 watts) :pirate-great:
Flux AM (2 watts) :pirate-great: . In the log above however Flux was on the air with the new transmitter (30 watts).
Also Radio Quintus remembered me with a nice QSL as a memory from mediumwave 1627 kHz (200 watts) :pirate-great: .
