Weekend (3 & 4 October 09) loggings, N. Ireland

Post by kordy miles »

I'll try and use this thread to keep all my loggins from this weekend on.

First was reception this (Saturday) afternoon not at my normal location, this was in around 54 degrees north, 7 degrees west in the mountains. Used was a 15 metre longwire, Eton E5 radio and Redsun RP2100 radio. A number of unidentified stations, anyone wishing to claim for them?

Freq (kHz) - Time (UTC) - SINPO - Station/comments

6209 - 1439 - 34433 - UNID. Dutch music.

6210 - 1349 - 44444 - Radio Mustang. Playing The Byrds "Turn" & The Doors "Light My Fire". Very good signal and sound quality excellent. Off air at just after 1400 UTC.

6300 - 1109 - 43233 - Radio Golfbreaker, Dutch music & talk. Noise reading may be false as the culprit was later found (a mobile phone charger!)

6300 - 1425 - 34433 - UNID. Unable to log ID, playing techno/dance music & Rammestein "Sonne". Decent signal.

6305 - 1120 - 44333 - UNID. Gone by 1150 UTC.

6305 - 1408 - 23333 - Trans Europe Radio. Very brief test broadcast as announced as coming from "village in south west Netherlands". Fair but decent signal. Off air at 1425 UTC.

6324 - 1158 - 32432 - UNID, Playing Polka Music. No ID heard. Interference from ACI to 6330 and utility comms.

6330 - 1140 - 43333 - UNID, Playing Mungo Jerry at 1154 UTC.

6870 - 1334 - 22232 - Radio Playback International. Weak to fair signal at this time, interference from SSB comms.

6870 - 1443 - 33333 - Radio Playback International - returned to this frequency with live programming having commenced with DJ Kevin. Playing Bachman Tuner Overdrive "You ain't seen nothing yet" & Eric Carmen "Hungry Eyes".

7550 - 1337 - 22432 - Radio Amica. Still suffers from utility interference on 7555kHz. Announcements in Italian, playing Village People "YMCA".

Had to leave after logging PBi for the second time.

Hi Kordy,

At this time 2 stations were in QSO on 6330, Radio Black Power, and VOTN.

Greetings.
