Logs from Newfoundland, June 22-29

Post by newfoundland dxer »

Hi everyone:

It was another active, but challenging week. Lots of stations heard, but most very weakly, which made identification difficult. As always, thanks to the users of Iann's chat and the frn for assistance with IDs.

I have noticed an interesting phenomenon lately. I have been getting a brief peak in signals on 48 m around 2100, which I assume is sunset or shortly after in Europe. Signals then fade a little, and return about an hour later. I have only noticed this the past few weeks, somaybe a summer thing. Any other North Americans notice a similar effect?

Best of wishes to all the attendees at Summermeeting. I really wish I could be there.

I'll actually be flying the other way next Sunday to visit my mother on Canada's west coast, so no logs for a few weeks. :( .

Hello Terry,

Another interesting set of logs - 2100 would correspond with sunset in UK, although now we have passed the summer equinox the evenings are starting to draw in.

On a style point, on your logs the dates in navy blue are very difficult to read against a black background! A lighter blue maybe?
