American QSO!

Post by newfoundland dxer »

I had just posted my logs last night when I was treated to something brand new for me, an American QSO!

May 25
6925u 0200-0210 Northwoods Radio/6BA6 QSO on top of Liquid Radio. When Northwoods finished its regular show at 0200, another station IDing as "6BA6" called Northwoods, and they had a QSO with 6BA6 reporting on Northwoods' signal, and an exchange of locations!

Northwoods could hear Liquid Radio and another, 4th station underneath, so they moved to 6935u at 0210 for a further 5 minutes.

I could hear weak music periodically under the initial QSO on 6925u, and seconds after they moved, a clear Liquid Radio ID came through. (No sign of the reported 4th station, Toynbee Radio, here).

Northwoods - 24442, 6BA6 - 44443, Liquid Radio - 12441.

A unique treat, I think!

Hi Glowbug:

Greetings to the west coast. I may be in your neck of the woods this summer.

Yes, great conditions. It was a fun weekend. :D

My receiver is a JRC NRD-525, and my antenna is a 75 m long wire, starting 30 m from the house, with a coax connector grounded at each end with 5 ft copper rods.

73's. Terry
