A pretty good weekend for Pirate radio.
Conditions were OK.Noise levels here are still down.
Radio Borerhunter is something else isn't he?Even takes a rig with him on holiday!
What a great effort by Frans!Operating mobile is not the same as running from home.
I take nothing away from Pirates that run from home. But,the problems of running "Mobile" are usually eased by the fact that "Mobile" stations tend to have several staff. They also rarely broadcast live.To do a live "Mobile" transmission without(I assume) a load of people to help is amazing. To get a half reasonable signal out with fairly low power, running off batteries is even better! To do it on your own........what can I say?
I think we all need to applaud the efforts of Radio Borderhunter!!!
Good signals and low mod this weekend from Saalandse Boer and Merlin.Increase the mod guys and you will have very nice signals.
Strongest signal of the weekend came from The Bogusman tonight.I don't know if it is just conditions or if he is doing something but his signal has improved over the last few weeks and tonight he is really powerfull!

live and mobile

Post by freebird »

Hello Andy,

it is always great to hear Radio Borderhunter. I think you are absolutely right in saying that transmissions coming mobile and live are very difficult.
What I know Frans is not the only one broadcasting in that way. Paul Stewart from Radio Galaxy did so some years ago sitting with a mike and a cd player in his car. What I heard Uncle Bernhard from Radio Likedeeler comes mobile and live with his weekend transmissions from the woods for years. He puts telephone calls live on the radio too.
I think we all need to applaud the efforts of Radio Borderhunter, Galaxy and Likedeeler!!!
By the way, what is about Paul Stewart? He had a furious come back some time ago. I hope he will come back!

Hi Freebird,

Unfortunately I have not heard Radio Likedeeler very often and not all that well when I did.So I can't really comment.
As for radio Galaxy, they really know what they are doing when it comes to live mobile transmissions. But I bet Paul doesn't set it up on his own..............I hope we all hear Radio Galaxy again soon, great fun.
Any Pirate that puts out a good signal or good programmes deserves respect but when you know that extra effort has gone into a transmission then it makes you think.

Hello Andy and Freebird,

I like all the pirates, but a little bit more I like live transmissions from pirates, inspite they are more dangerous. When the are mobile and live it is great.

Best wishes

Axel
