I can't remember logging so few stations on 48m over a weekend.
Conditions were really terrible.
But Pirates are clever operators.Orion was fine on 52m.VOTN sounded great on 40m,nice quiet band,turned the RF gain up and except for the deep fading it was a really good signal.
76m is the place to be right now,lots of activity and some really good signals.
But before all you Ops out there start building new aerials & adjusting rigs,just remember that there is not a lot of space up there and anyway,48m will come back!
All I heard on 48m was a weak signal from Radio Altrex,good given the conditions and even the mighty Spaceman was weaker than normal.
A shame,because the music he was playing was superb.Hi to Mrs Spaceman!I laughed out loud at her comment after a jingle in Finnish when she asked Finnish listeners to write in,but please,only in a CIVILISED language like German,French,Dutch or English!
Please,no offence to Finns,but your language is a bit different.........................Pirates should not be PC.In any case,we should all be able to laugh at each other,without meaning any harm!

Kiva kuulla vähän suomenkieltäkin välillä 48 metrillä, vaikka se nyt tuli Spacemannin kautta...

Perhaps english is more comfortable for people in this forum after all. (By the way, my language is swedish. I belong to a small minority of swidishspeaking folks here along the coast... But if you live here you have to speak finnish too.)

Interesting this finnishorientation of Spaceman. I have also heard prerecorded phonenumbers and announcements in finnish from him on mediumwave. This sunday I listened to Spaceman around 12.30 UTC with rock and talking in finnish. The signalstrength was unbelievable, I was sure about this being a finnish pirate as dutch stations don´t reach me this time of the day in the summer. But Spaceman it was. I wonder how many kilowatts it is behind this signal..? Or did this transmission come from Finland??? Probably not when I see your SINPO... Pity I missed the Spacelady...

I also happened to hear the QSO-round on 76 mb on saturday evening. From the logbook:

Hi Andy, indeed also Radio Altrex was on air saterday morning.
Freq. was 6262 khz, so i hope you did hear Altrex, don't know if somebody else was on air on that freq.

So thanks for the report, Merlin got Altrex with S9 in the UK.
