Westcoast Finland log; 10-12 April

Hello all! This Easter was not optimal for my listening. Away from home every day and I could reach the radio only in the evening. Pity as I see in logs that a lot of stations were on the air in the mornings and afternoons. 1 (one) dutch station in this log!!! Friday 10 April 3931,7 2115 Radio Rainb...

Westcoast Finland log; 4 & 5 April

The last time that I on one day heard more stations from England than from Holland must have been 20 years ago. On sunday it happened again! 3-2 to England. With some luck there could have been even more british stations; SW-Pirate, Bogusman, Merlin, Pandora, Telstar South etc. Also Caroline North a...

Thanks for the tips Ray! When the snow is gone, the birds are singing and the temperature is acceptable, I will do something with the old wire. :-k Maybe I make an inverted V-dipole. Many years ago I had one for 60 mb when I was listening to Indonesia and Africa (I turned the "legs&qu...

Hello all! Yes, some kind of long skip it was I guess. Especially Ramona Saturday evening and Delta Lima on Sunday seem to have skipped the closest listeners for some reason. You never know where the signals go... Nice to hear from you Dave. I have logged WR International four Sundays in a row now b...

Westcoast Finland log; 13-15 March

Again a great weekend with good music. A quiet band. Not much noice on 48 mb (good), but unfortunately this "filter" also took the signals of the radiostations. Especially on Saturday when 1 (one) station made it up here in the morning/afternoon. Pity I am too lazy to build a better antenn...

Interesting this! I took a look in my old list of where I have sent reception reports. These are all different shortwavestations, no station reported twice... The stations not reported, only heard, are not included here. Some statistics: 1979-1980 (My first DX-years with an old valve-radio from the ...

Hello Ray! Of course you are right here, Shortwave Pirate it shall be! I was checking on their QSL-card a minute ago and the radiostation seem to spell the stationname consistently "sw-pirate". ...eh...too many trips to the beercellar force you to create this kind of new stationnames. Than...

Westcoast Finland log 31 january & 1 february

Saturday 31 January (only one short bandscan in the morning and one in the evening) 3932,2 2318 unid but several listeners have identified this as SW Radio from Scotland. I heard them talking when I was in the beercellar, but when I reached the radio again, they were playing "What shall we do ...
